The craziest thing about this album is that you could write a whole review just about Pineapple Juniors as a track alone. It’s the exact paradigm shift where you can see SP’s sound changing from late night lo-fi to future funk before it was even a widespread thing.
On either side to its front and back, it’s also surrounded by much more relaxed tracks, with a similarly upbeat pair alongside “Shaolin” much later on.
If you like both SP’s earlier and later work, this is a perfect fusion of both.
